Every program we offer is designed with triple impact policies and aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, our partnership with One Percent for the Planet reflects our commitment to donate at least 1% of our profits to a local Argentine organization dedicated to conserving biological, ecological, and cultural diversity.
B Corp
South&afar parent company Onesixth Expeditions was founded with a strong commitment to sustainability, aligning from the start with the principles of B Corp. Although our certification came later due to B Corp's operational requirements, our dedication to positive environmental and social impact has been unwavering from day one.
In 2023, B Lab, the US-based nonprofit, audited our practices and awarded us an impressive score of 93.4, well above the 80-point threshold for certification. This recognition underscores our proactive approach and deep commitment to sustainability, validating our efforts to make a meaningful difference.
Our Commitment to 1% for the Planet
We are honored to participate in the global 1% for the Planet initiative, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. By pledging 1% of our annual profits, we support conservation efforts that directly enhance biodiversity, ecology, and cultural preservation. This partnership not only allows us to offer memorable experiences to our travelers but also ensures the protection and sustainability of the beautiful destinations we visit.
In our inaugural year of profitability, we formed a partnership with the ProyectoSub Foundation, an organization devoted to enhancing ocean culture. This nonprofit endeavors to explore, document, and research marine environments to highlight their biological diversity and underline their ecological, economic, and social significance. The foundation tackles pressing issues like marine biodiversity shifts, plastic pollution, invasive species, climate change, and resource overexploitation. Its mission is to foster environmental awareness and action through its support of scientific research, educational programs, citizen science projects, and creative endeavors that advocate for the preservation of marine ecosystems.
